Position Summary:
The Retail Business Analyst is the key connection between the business and the IT team. They have a deep understanding of the business processes and understand how technology can solve issues the business is facing or might face in the future.
Key liaison with the business to understand business processes, rules and requirements.
Analyze complex business problems and assess how technology may solve them. Work within the Retail Systems Support IT team to recommend solutions (new software, updated software, new hardware).
Formalize the objectives and scope of business systems (project planning and startup).
Consult with business on requirements to develop the project requirements (business requirements documentation).
Develop (with the business) user acceptance requirements for new software (user test plans)
Provide support to business when key issues occur (bridge business and IT solutions when major incident occurs, react to regulatory and compliance issues).
Able to provide support for systems, including evening, weekend, peak business activity periods and on call assignments
Address production issues in a timely and efficient manner with the appropriate sense of urgency and prioritization: perform all necessary investigation and analysis to solve the issues.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Support the development of business cases by gathering information to be included in a business case.
Gathers information and supports the completion of the Business Requirements Document.
Develops requirements for solutions by working closely with the business and appropriate IT teams.
Have deep knowledge of retail store systems and business processes combined with the ability to handle complex business situations, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Experience working with project management tool such as: JIRA, Confluence, Sharepoint or any other related tools
Supports the development process by:
Supporting solution design by providing insight at design sessions with IT teams to help translate requirements into workable business solutions.
Adhering to SDLC and/or PMLC standards and governance.
Supports solution deployment by:
Supporting solution integration and user acceptance testing.
Providing post implementation support to business.
Developing user acceptance criteria.
Testing case execution as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
In addition, the following are critical skills required (or desired, where noted) to perform well in this position:
Must have experience in managing/implementing store systems, including POS, payment terminals, sales tax systems, in-store technology, and processes.
Working knowledge of the following systems:
Retail POS Systems knowledge
Payment
OMS (Order Management Systems)
Tax engine
ERP
Omni Channel project experience
Demonstrated knowledge in architecture, design, software development, database management systems and systems integration in multi-platform environments.
Structured problem-solving skills; ability to identify high-impact issues/risk for leadership review
Excellent understanding of technology with the ability to effectively translate technical terminology and concepts into language understandable by non-technical individuals
Hands-on experience with large-scale system development efforts through all stages of the project life-cycle
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence across the organization
Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer-facing skills at all levels of the organization.

Experienced in alerting and monitoring for the retail store systems

Required Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or relevant field of work or equivalent work experience.
Required Skills & Experience:
3+ years of relevant experience and 5+ years of IT experience
Contributed to business case development
Regular interaction with business partners
Must have experience managing technical projects focused on Omnichannel enablement
NCR POS background will be a major advantage
Omni Channel experience
Good Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle waterfall and Agile Development
Experience in client handling and communication with multiple stake holders
Desired Experience:
OMNI-Channel processes and E-Commerce knowledge or working on e-Commerce projects a plus
