POSITION TITLE: Manager of IT Infrastructure  
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology 
SUPERVISOR: Senior Director of Global IT
FLSA STATUS: Exempt

ROLE DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for managing a team of IT support staff while ensuring the functionality and stability of the company’s systems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hires and trains IT staff.
  • Schedules, organizes, and assigns projects to members of the IT team.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. 
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing new network troubleshooting strategies to help reduce downtime and decrease maintenance costs
  • Creating rational strategies for upgrading the company’s network software whenever a new update is available
  • Constructing and implementing plans to ensure the company’s network continues to operate smoothly in the event of a problem
  • Staying up to date with new network technology and reporting this information to the executive team each quarter
  • Working closely with other department Managers to assess the growth needs and maintenance of the company’s network
  • Leads development and implementation processes for the organization’s IT systems and department.
  • Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
  • Microsoft Server OS, Microsoft Office 365, VMware, networking, firewall, and backup administration.
  • Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
  • Ensure that corporate defined SLA and uptime requirements are maintained.
  • Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information.
  • Work with IT leadership on providing recommendations and improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
  • Provide guidance and mentor staff in the many areas of systems and networking.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Hands-on experience with technologies including Windows Server, Cloud infrastructure, Office 365, Cisco networking, Palo Alto firewalls, and VMware. 
  • Possesses a collaborative and team-oriented approach with strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and management skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of IT and practical applications to support the company’s goals.  
  • Familiar with documentation strategies for the enterprise.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 8-10 years of experience supporting a mid-size to large infrastructure.
  • 3 or more years of IT Project Management.
  • Relevant IT certifications preferred.
  • Experience in logistics and supply chain a plus.
