This role is to backfill the Leader and decision maker for my client’s information technology department within a medium-sized family-owned business who is retiring.
The VP of Information Technology will implement strategies and select technologies to improve workflows and business practices. Will be responsible for technology improvement, I/T staff, and infrastructure. Will advise on new technologies and technologies, provide guidance within the organization and monitor budgets.
- Managerial experience with a small Information Technology staff
- Hands-On experience. The incumbent will be available for consulting, but the successful candidate must eventually be self-reliant.
- Experience with the management of IBM I and SQL Server databases
- A good working knowledge of SQL is required
- Experience with application modernization is an advantage
- Manufacturing and Distribution experience
- Experience in working with warehouse management systems.
- Some financial applications knowledge
- Must be flexible with time. Occasionally week-end work and during vacations/holidays may be required

- Analyze I/T systems for effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
- Research new technologies and asses its suitability
- Implementation of technology to streamline internal operations and optimization of strategic benefits
