SUMMARY

The Director of Quality Control will develop, implement, and periodically evaluate a program to ensure the organization’s production operations, from raw materials to finished products, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Evaluates production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements.

  • Collaborates with management and senior leadership teams across production departments and roles to draft acceptable quality standards.

  • Develops and implements quality standard testing and evaluation processes.

  • Facilitates communication among production divisions and management.

  • Assesses test results and approves recommended changes.

  • Reviews quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance.

  • Conducts random inspections and quality control checks.

  • Periodically reports status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies.

  • Oversees the development and update of TNC Testing Manual, set, monitor, and enforce appropriate quality standards, parameters/testing protocols for products.

  • Manage team members to oversee the invoices from offshore agents or vendors.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff.

  • Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.

  • Thorough understanding of wholesale distribution and production in the industry.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.

  • Expert knowledge of mathematics, data analysis, and statistical methods

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related industrial, scientific, or business field required

  • 8 to 10 years of related experience required with at least five years as a quality engineer or similar role highly preferred.

  • 8+ years’ experience working with quality control procedures and legal standards.

  • Experience working with major retail accounts such as Wal-Mart, Costco, Sam’s Club

  • Advanced technology skills and experience in Excel, PLM, ERP systems and PowerPoint

GOTS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Review suppliers and capabilities with Sourcing / Compliance department. 

  • Review test reports.

  • Maintain Traceability documentation including:

  • Scope and Transaction certificates for all suppliers. 

  • Quantities ordered and received.

  • Fabric content.

  • Origin and destination.

  • Request Scope Certificates and Transaction Certificates from suppliers and maintain records of the certifications.

  • Provide Transaction Certificates to customers for all material sold as GOTS certified products.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office environment

Estimated Compensation: $100,000 - $125,000 Per Year
