Our client is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Global Business Process Owner (GBPO) for Record-to-Report. This is a high-impact, multi-dimensional leadership role designed for an expert who can bridge the gap between complex financial operations and enterprise technology.
Initially, you will step into a critical vacancy—previously supported by external consultants—to lead the Finance workstream for a worldwide SAP S/4HANA deployment. Reporting to the Chief Technology and Digital Officer, you will hold overarching authority over design and prioritization decisions for a transformative, multi-year initiative.
What You Will Be Doing
Phase I: SAP Implementation & Workstream Leadership
Drive the Global Rollout: Lead the global Finance workstream, overseeing functional design to ensure alignment with consumer goods best practices.
North America Execution: Focus immediately on the North America go-live (targeted for August 2026), managing data conversion, final UAT, mock close activities, and end-user training.
Strategic Intermediary: Act as the key link between business and technology teams, partnering with Project Managers to identify risks, remove blockers, and manage execution.
Global Standardization: Harmonize global processes and policies across the enterprise as you prepare for subsequent rollouts in Europe and Asia through 2027.
Phase II: Long-Term Governance & Strategy
Post Go-Live Ownership: Transition into the Global Controlling team to define the strategic design and governance of the R2R process.
Roadmap Optimization: Evaluate and optimize the finance technology roadmap, including close, planning, and reporting platforms (e.g., BlackLine).
Executive Influence: Interface regularly with the CEO and senior leadership, driving decisive change and mentoring team members with candid, growth-oriented feedback.
Succession: This role is positioned on a leadership development track with potential successor opportunities within a 5-year horizon.
What You Bring
Experience & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and Big 4 public accounting experience (5–8 years) are strongly preferred.
Professional Background: 10+ years of progressive experience in controllership and finance operations, specifically within a large CPG or manufacturing environment.
Systems Expertise: Significant experience with full-lifecycle SAP implementations. You must understand how business requirements translate into SAP architecture and have exposure to complex SAP landscapes/enhancements.
Process Mastery: Proven success as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or GBPO for R2R processes and financial close tools (e.g., BlackLine).
Leadership Profile
Executive Presence: Ability to influence stakeholders and “the players” without being pushy; humble but confident.
Decisiveness: An ownership mindset with the ability to drive decisions in a fast-paced, matrixed, and culturally diverse environment.
Adaptability: Comfortable shifting between high-level strategic presentations and PMO-focused execution.
Growth Mindset: An entrepreneurial spirit energized by large-scale transformation and continuous improvement.
Why This Role?
This is a rare opportunity to design the future state of a multi-billion-dollar global brand portfolio. You will have a seat at the table with senior-most leadership, leading a true global transformation that offers a long, fulfilling career journey for a transformation-minded finance leader.
Estimated Compensation: $190,000 - $200,000 Per Year
