This is a mission-critical role responsible for architecting the platform that powers the organization’s revenue engine, order lifecycle, and system integrations across e-commerce, ERP, billing, fulfillment, and device ecosystems.

The Role
This is a deeply technical, hands-on architecture leadership position. You will own the design and evolution of the organization’s order orchestration layer, integration architecture, and enterprise platform boundaries.

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture & Platform Design
- Architect the business’s order orchestration platform and lifecycle state model
- Define canonical data models across order, customer, device, subscription, and fulfillment domains
- Establish system boundaries between commerce, billing, ERP, fulfillment, and device platforms
- Lead the evolution toward an event-driven integration architecture
Order Lifecycle & Commerce Infrastructure
- Design the orchestration layer that manages:
- Order creation and release
- Post-purchase modification and cancellation workflows
- Fulfillment routing and status tracking
- Returns and exception handling
- Ensure commerce platforms (WooCommerce, future platforms) are decoupled from operational workflows
Integration & Reliability Engineering
- Design API and event architectures connecting:
- WooCommerce / commerce platforms
- Stripe subscription systems
- NetSuite ERP
- 3PL and fulfillment partners
- Retail/EDI partners
- Implement idempotency, retry strategies, and failure-recovery patterns
- Establish observability and system health monitoring across integrations
ERP & Enterprise Systems Alignment
- Ensure NetSuite operates as a financial system of record rather than a workflow engine
- Architect reliable data synchronization between order systems and ERP
Transformation Leadership
- Guide internal and external development teams in implementing platform changes
- Create technical roadmaps for platform evolution
- Eliminate manual operational workflows through system automation

Requirements
Experience
- 10–15+ years in enterprise platform architecture, integration engineering, or commerce systems
- Proven experience designing order orchestration, OMS, or commerce-ERP integration platforms
- Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and distributed systems
- Experience integrating:
- ERP platforms (NetSuite preferred)
- Stripe or subscription billing platforms
- E-commerce platforms (WooCommerce, Shopify, BigCommerce, or headless)
- Fulfillment and logistics systems
- Experience in DTC, subscription, consumer electronics, or hardware-enabled businesses strongly preferred
Technical Expertise
- API architecture and system integration design
- Event streaming or message-driven systems
- Idempotency and failure-recovery strategies
- Distributed system reliability patterns
- Data modeling for commerce and operational systems
Mindset

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required
- Advanced technical degree preferred but not required

- Establish a modern order orchestration architecture
- Stabilize system integrations and reduce operational outages
- Eliminate manual reconciliation workflows
- Improve reliability of WooCommerce, Stripe, NetSuite, and fulfillment integrations
- Enable future commerce platform evolution (Woo, Bagisto, headless, etc.)
