The Head of IT has ownership and accountability for the establishment and execution of the enterprise-wide technology needs, operations, and strategy and ensures its alignment with the company’s business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.

The Head of IT is a hands-on role that manages and coordinates effort from four independent MSP/third-party partners supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365, networking, security and the Data Lake/Power Bi.  The Head of IT participates in and contributes to overall company operations and strategy development, bringing current knowledge and future vision to leverage information and technology in business model design, business process re-engineering, operational improvements, and support for the company mission.

The Head of IT, in a collaborative and structured fashion, helps set priorities and sequence for company portfolios and projects. The position also launches new programs, implements new systems, integrates new vendor solutions, and provides direction to cross-functional teams. The Head of IT works across all departments on major initiatives and leads by influence and communication.

The Head of IT will be responsible for setting the strategic technological direction for the company; ensuring the delivery of systems that will enable the acquisition-driven growth of the company, while driving tools to enable better decision-making across the organization. The IT leader will ensure that proper data and systems security is in place to support the continued growth of the firm while protecting the employees, company, and customer data and ensuring the continued, secure operation of the business.

Key Functions and Responsibilities: 

Key Head of IT responsibilities include ERP management, software licensing and updates, cybersecurity and company training, data management, networking and infrastructure, intranet, user-level equipment (laptops, cell phones, desktops), phone systems, email, disaster recovery programs, and AI, all with the assistance of four MSP/third-party teams. This position is responsible for establishing and implementing the strategic vision and goals for all IT initiatives in a customer-focused organization.  He or she will lead all aspects of IT strategy, operations, and maintenance needed to support the business and to create and maintain a stable, scalable IT infrastructure. This person will provide visionary leadership in investigating and proposing the use of new IT initiatives, and ensuring that existing software is understood and used at its full potential.

Daily IT Operations

• Manages the design, planning, operation, security, and day-to-day operations of cloud-based infrastructure, network, servers, and all data communications.

• Management of Office 365 software and email system 

• Management of software and email systems 

• Establishes and maintains productive relationships with our functional leaders and operational groups to ensure alignment of IT efforts with business needs.

• Management, allocation, and tracking of current hardware

• Mobile device management 

• Responsibility for new hire setup

• Troubleshooting of user and system issues 

Strategic Planning 

• Develops and oversees the implementation of long- and short-term strategic plan for IT that aligns with Company’s strategic priorities, business needs, and resource planning.

• Responsible for continued development of the Microsoft D365 system, including Dynamics CRM, Dynamics Warehouse Management, and other modules.

• Operationalize IT processes across the company. Determine where new development is required versus implementing packaged solutions. 

• Development of an AI strategic plan for the company, including input from all stakeholders.

• Responsible for preparation of yearly IT budget and execution of finances of IT

Reporting 

• Provides vision and strategy for all data management activities, including developing data management processes and policies, identifying relevant supporting tools and technologies, implementing data governance, and leading the underlying technology platform development needed to enable data innovation.

• Responsible for maintenance and further development of the Data Lake and all Power BI reporting.

• Collaborates with functional leaders to develop and provide a reporting program which provides timely and accurate information to support the ongoing needs of the Company. 

Training 

• Train company-wide resources on IT systems and implements ‘user adoption’ of all company systems

Security

• Institutes and enforces information security measures, appropriately balances information assurance with ease of access to information necessary to job productivity

• Protects the information resources of the organization. 

• Oversees the development and implementation of SOP for Companywide Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans for IT assets and infrastructure.

• Responsible for the management of system backups 

• Responsible for the security of remote access to systems

• Responsible for the security of mobile resources 

Third-Party Vendor Management 

• Establishes vendor management and sourcing strategy

• Builds and maintains vendor relationships

• Manages and plans the purchase of hardware and software

• Manages and plans for licensing needs of the Company

Requirements:

Professional Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or related discipline

• Minimum of 10 years of IT experience at a senior level

• Experience with MS Dynamics 365 and related MS Dynamics CRM preferred

• Hands-on leader managing third-party MSP teams

• The ability to translate business requirements to D365 system configurations.

• An understanding of managing solutions hosted on a cloud-based environment, which includes a strong background in solutions based on the Microsoft stack, including SharePoint, SQL Server, Power BI

• Demonstrates professional competence and confidence, along with the ability to effectively partner with colleagues in a positive and professional manner.

• Proven experience leading innovative digital enterprise transformation and implementing modern technologies such as cloud, data/analytics, and emerging technologies to enable productivity and growth.

• Solutions-focused, displays a bias for action; focuses on what it takes to succeed rather than on the barriers to success.

• Analytical, as well as a problem solver, with excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
