This position is accountable for development and management a multi-year logistics strategy, with a focus on driving process innovation, service enhancements, and cost optimization across a freight spend exceeding $ 1B annually.
This key role serves as a strategic partner to Supply Chain leadership, championing initiatives that streamline operations, elevate performance metrics and unlock enterprise-wide efficiencies.
Additional responsibilities include partnership across Transportation & Logistics groups, Sourcing, Network Strategy and other internal and third-party resources as appropriate to providing cross functional support.
This professional will lead cross-functional collaboration across Transportation, Logistics, Sourcing, Network Strategy, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of strategic priorities. This includes cultivating and managing relationships with external consultants, contractors and vendors, while also leading internal IT and cross functional subject matter experts to ensure successful delivery of complex, high-impact initiatives.
Success in this role requires strong project leadership, partnership and communication capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset with strong business acumen, with the ability to build compelling business cases and influence key stakeholders to advance strategic opportunities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Responsible for providing project and program management for all Logistics & Transportation related initiatives. Examples include IT upgrades, process improvement initiatives, 3rd party projects and cost savings initiatives as assigned.
• Specific activities include leading the development and execution of annual project roadmaps and detailed plans, defining roles and responsibilities, tracking progress against timelines and goals, managing scope and budgets, and coordinating updates with project teams, steering committees and executive sponsors.
• Responsible for collaborating across Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, and key business functions to identify, and implement initiatives that enhance performance, scalability, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and operational controls.
• Responsible for administrative, analytics and support activities including contract management, sourcing bid events, and other transportation support functions as assigned by VP Logistics Strategy & Support.
• Perform all projects requested by the VP- Logistics Strategy & Support and other Leaders as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive Supply Chain Management experience, with a focus on leading transportation and logistics strategy within a large Retail or CPG organization or a consulting capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain or Business is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience managing large, cross-functional teams in Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and business cases.
• Must possess strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
• Skillful negotiator.
• Deep understanding of current supply chain technologies, tools and systems.
• Experience and knowledge of current supply-chain technologies, tools, applications and systems
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages a team of 10+ associates including Sr Managers, Managers, Exempt and non -exempt support staff.
