Sourcing Coordinator

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Negotiate most competitive cost with the appropriate country and factory, based on customer requirements. 
  • Cost engineer into target price ensuring that costs reflect testing/quality requirements of the customer.
  • Review all incoming costs to ensure accuracy before passing to Sales, and before PLM entry.
  • Work with Sales team on deadlines for costing / production / shipping on all programs.
  • Align with Design department on all development. Follow through from sample order to receipt in NYC.
  • Coordinate with Packaging department to ensure packaging is available at time of costing requests.
  • Review incoming costs to verify.
  • Evaluate costing for repeat SKUs on a regular basis for any benefit from global market conditions, raw material and currency fluctuation.
  • Analyze overall factory plans to ensure capacities are available for all orders and reorders.
  • Track/manage roll out orders.
  • Participate in weekly development and production meetings for all customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus ten years of previous sourcing experience working with overseas vendors at a large volume wholesale or retail business.
  • Experience with importing rugs and home textile.
  • Excellent costing and negotiating skills.
  • Prior experience managing a team.
  • Modest overseas travel required (I think once a quarter qualifies as modest).
  • Understanding of trade regulations, product integrity, testing protocols, production cycle timeline and logistics.
  • Computer proficiency to include MS office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent business acumen and strong tactical skills.
  • Works independently with ability to multi-task and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Superior organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong sense of urgency.

 

Estimated Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000 Per Year
