Job Requirements
I. Position Overview
As the Director of Human Resources, you will be responsible for:
– Developing and implementing HR strategies and policies that align with our firm’s vision, mission, and values
– Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retaining qualified and diverse talent for our legal and support staff positions
– Managing employee compensation, benefits, performance, and development programs
– Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
– Fostering a positive and inclusive work culture that promotes employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention
– Handling employee relations issues and resolving conflicts in a timely and professional manner
– Providing guidance and support to managers and employees on HR matters and best practices
– Supervising and mentoring the HR team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality HR services
– Analyzing HR data and metrics and preparing reports for senior management
– Staying updated on the latest HR trends and best practices and recommending improvements as needed
II. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ideal Director of Human Resources should be a well-rounded business executive with substantial management experience in a law firm or similar service industry. Key attributes include:
– A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field; a master’s degree or a CPHR certification is a plus
– At least 10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a law firm or a professional services environment
– Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
– Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legal requirements
– Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
– Ability to work collaboratively and constructively with different levels of stakeholders
– Proficiency in MS Office, HRIS, and payroll software
– A high level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
