The direct Procurement leader is responsible for developing the direct sourcing strategy and implementation.
 
Scope of the role includes; supplier market research, vendor selection, category strategy management, value analysis (price, quality, quantity, time…), negotiation, buying, risk mitigation, supplier relationship management & contract administration.
Purpose of the role is to achieve measurable improvements in sourcing, by reducing costs, improving efficiency and improving supplier performance.
Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee internal Indirect Sourcing activities to deliver cost savings, supplier consolidation and improve suppliers.
  • Developing & executing the overall direct Sourcing strategy for the organization in close collaboration with Senior Management.
  • Market research and analysis in order to develop expertise in core categories including product knowledge, industry dynamics and Market trends
  • Perform data analysis and utilize financial acumen to identify opportunities to leverage scale, and drive best value proposition/vendor selection for the organization
  • Develop expertise in contract requirements in order to negotiate the most favorable pricing and contract terms and conditions.
  • Develop comprehensive risk mitigation plans to ensure uninterrupted supply of products.
  • Implement rigorous supplier relationship management processes.
  • Strong project and process management in order to execute global & regional sourcing strategy
  • Management of Indirects functional budget

Resources managed:

  • Direct responsibility for a team of 6 Category Strategy Managers / Procurement leads.
  • Direct sourcing operational budget.
  • Sets targets and achieves cost savings through Strategic Sourcing.
  • Supports key stakeholders up to and including Executive level through the annual budgeting cycle in addressing the impact of their Indirect spend.
  • Global scope impacting across all functions.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum 10yrs experience in construction, preferably in Fire Sprinkler
  • Deep and broad sourcing experience and expertise
  • Significant experience of performing Strategic Sourcing roles in procurement category management
  • Ability to work with management located in other countries.
  • Demonstrable track record of achieving results in managing complex, cross-functional activities.

Technical Skills:

  • Solid business/financial & project management skills
  • Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel, Outlook
Estimated Compensation: $100,000 - $150,000 Per Year
